Well if you have a Digital Coax or Optical then this will help you, injoy. cuz SRS is great but we'd all still like to use SPDIF aka Digital sound instead of Anolog. and check the box that says listen and then under that select the digital out and not the speaker or the defult.Īnd if that helps you witch i cant see it, not. a workaround.īasicly, from the speaker port on the back of the computer, I put a jumper cable aka a 1/8th regual headphone jack, from the speaker output into the "line in" input, then i go to recording divices, on the volume/sound/playback menu, select enable "Line in" duble click and go to the listen tab. I have since found a work around, but its just that. There is no way (until now, iv lernt a work around) to use your srs while outputting the sound via your SPIDIF aka digital out, weather it be optical or digital coax, while Xp allows for the SRS Digital output combination in vista you must select either speaker or digital output more or less disabling the ability to output digital while using the SRS feature. The problem i ran into while using SRS on vista, and not xp was, that. i think the problem lies in the newest version 1.9v. I have a onboard sound card, wtih asus mother board, realtech a97' audio drivers, but as we all know srs installs its own driver, witch you must use, (and make sure it enabled in the device manager). I have never had a problem with it ever, not once, w/ Vista 圆4

Install the 1.7v, and enable it to start up with your computer. Instead of using the newest version witch i believe, you are having the problem with, I have a fix, that might work, its worked for me. Or point me in the right direction to fix it? I also have a friend with Vista x86 and using SRS with the same motherboard and audio plugs, he never got a crash like this. I never had this problem before with just the normal Realtek software,

It loops the last second of the media being played (like a skipping CD) and the only way to stop this is by closing the application.Īfter that there will be no more sound until a whole system restart. The issue is that after playing any media (music, movies, games, ect.) the whole system audio crashes. My audio Ports are Realtek ACL888 7.1 HD. I recently bought the SRS Audio Sandbox, It is a very nice software.īut there is a problem I got windows Vista 圆4 and of course I downloaded and installed the 圆4 version of SRS. I just sent a messge to the SRS Labs Support, I'm prety sure this is not the 1st time the hear this complain, but let see what will they respond. but for now i will continue to use SRS even if my system audio crashes in the middle of Paradise City. If they would at least provided a manual EQ that would have make a difference.

since the one that they provide for the audio driver is not up to par as it was with the one they provided for windows XP. It's a shame that for many out there using the realtek audio, we have to look for audio enhancement software somewhere else. In the event you connect all this speakers to your system, that they all will work propperly. I have checke the srs labs website for support in the faq's but no topic in this matter.Īs far as for the configuration checklist in srs, that doesn't make much of a difference (related to crashing) it only makes sure your system is configured to support 5.1 audio. with the latest updates.Īnd yes it has significantly reduced the the crashing time, but i believe the problem is the srs driver itself. I got the Realtek HD 7.1 ACL888 in my MoBo. Wich audio driver update? for srs or for your onboard audio (wich onboard audio you have?) I am one of the addicts to SRS the sound, its so rich! i can't just listen to the plain sound of the realtek eq. So if any one wants to join this discussion, to see if we can come up to the solution.i tell you there will be many happy ears out there! (i have not tryed the 圆4 version of xp yet to single out if it is the xp/vista or is the 32/64 conflicts with SRS)

So my deduction here is that the problem lies in the 圆4 drivers of SRS or the capacity for vista 圆4 to handdle such a fine program.
#Srs audio sandbox page 32 bit
(I did install the 32 bit vesrsion of SRS in Vista Ultimate x86 for a friend and he doesn't suffer from crashes) I installed it and ran it, and now the problems start. Windows Vista Ultimate 圆4.i had to get myself the 圆4 version of SRS. Now I re installed my system with the lattest trend that is. I used to have installed windows xp x86, in this system and used SRS 32bit version and it worked great, never had a crash. I have an MSI sli v2, with the HD realtek alc888, 7.1 capable audio connector.

I came up with the why.? but not the how to fix it. Hey dont fell bad!!!! I also have the same problem with SRS.

Many complains i have seen on the net about sound crashing when using this combo. For those who are using Vista 圆4 flavor with the SRS Audio Sandbox topping!
